Those Things You Say...has been written and produced as a collaboration by experienced GP educationalists and those who devised the Assessment of Consulting Skills Modules of the MRCGP examination.

Contents

The examination for Membership of the RCGP has established itself as one of the most respected and comprehensive primary care examinations in the world.  This package analyses in-depth the individual performance criteria for the College examination, and provides examples of excellent consulting practice.  It addresses the common reasons for failing the examination, and demonstrates the level of skills required to pass the examination.  It is also useful for improving general communication skills.

The package is designed to be used alone, with a mentor or in a small group setting.  It comprises two video tapes and a comprehensive large format workbook.

Video 1 illustrates the standard required for the MRCGP consulting skills assessment by video tape.

Video 2 contains examples of whole consultations.

The workbook includes sections describing the development of the assessment tool and tips on how to prepare your own video tape for submission.
