1   Does the title clearly reflect the article's contents?
2   Does the abstract reflect the contents of the paper?
3   Is the text clear and well written
4   Is the basis of the paper clear - is it opinion, observation, anecdotal, reflection?
5   Does the article illuminate an aspect of work based learning?
6   Does the article contribute to debate?

7  To what extent does the article contribute towards a greater understanding of the different perspectives of (for example) practitioners, patients, managers, and policy makers?

For Educational research

1   Do you think it is appropriate for the journal and this section?
2   Does the title clearly reflect the contents?
3   Does the abstract reflect the contents of the paper?
4   Do the tables, figures and boxes contribute to the paper?
5   Even if the paper is only about one profession, would it be relevant to others?
6   Is the reason for conducting the study clearly stated?
7   Is the methodology appropriate?
8   Is the analysis supported by the findings?
9   Does the discussion contribute to either understanding or debate on the subject?

For Practitioner research

1   Do you think it is appropriate for this journal and this section?

4   Is the issue which is being researched clearly and simply stated?
5   Is the choice for the methodology reasonable?
6   Is what happened and what was found clearly described?
7   Are the conclusions of the paper supported by findings?
8   Is the discussion appropriate and useful?
9   Does the paper include learning from mistakes/challenges encountered during the study?
